ESV as buyout bait? Could be, but over the past years the company has acted more like a buyer than a buyee. It would not surprise me if they decided to buy themselves through a stock buyback program. The most plausible buyout scenario for ESV would be that the company is very cheap so they might receive a very generous stock offer by a company with a bigger PE. That way ESV shareholders get a lot and the combined company gets stronger earnings.
