Ian Davidson. re: Street.com article. Thanx for the article. For a change it was fairly even-handed. With AMD and Apple both up big time this year, the prices sure don't match the fundamentals.

Thanks for the article. The thing that floored me was the statement that while in January, AMD had 18.8% of the retail market compared to 65% for Intel, this changed in February to 48.8% for AMD and 45% to Intel. The article does have the caveat that these numbers change dramatically from month to month and February may have been a fluke, but still, WOW! Does anybody know how large the retail market is, how many chips we're talking about? Half the retail market just seems awfully large for AMD to fulfill.
