5 years. It will be interesting to see if they can force through
some price increases. <

I received a call from one of their clubs. Right now they are running a $5 first month special, this of course assumes consumers are will be lured by this. Other promotions include $100 of the three year membership and waiving of monthly dues which are in the $6-12 range I belive. They also have one year memberships. I have a Saturday appointment to discuss a one year all cash membership. I will go and report back.

I did mention during the phone conversation that may only concern was that a friend of mine told me that I could not cancel the membership if for example I thought the gym was too crowded or was not satisfied with the service. I was told that was right but that corporate "may do something about it".

Membership handling for the clubs is centralized, yet they provide no 800 number, and as you may have read in the complaints site they seem to make a point out of making you wait, and not returning your calls. They do report a drop in their phone bill presumably thanks to lower rates.

12,500 members per club

It is not uncommon to pass a Bally's gym in the city and see 15 people waiting in line to use a weight machine.

The policy of Overbooking also adds to the confusion in the clubs creating an additional negative experience. i.e. Locker Room Theft, & Sexual Harassment.
