John: Good idea. That would preclude our being split to two threads, should someone start a new one under the new name, which, by the way, should begin soon (maybe today).

John: I suggest you listen to the conference call (see the number above). It lasts about 40 minutes and is very informative. Whereas I took notes on the call, it is best for you to listen yourself.

After listening to the call, I see the future in the access control market, with some continuing operating revenue coming from the current Sandia printers business (75% of 1998 revenues will come from the continued sale of high end printers and service to existing customers, such as the INS). They continue to work with China on this end of the business. Look for mid-range printers in the 3rd quarter.

The remaining revenue for this year will come from ID card services.

But (in my estimation)the big business will come in 1999 and will come in proportion to the success of the company in penetrating the controlled access business, which is a 40 billion dollar business of which 13 billion is in electronic access control. With 132 companies competing for business, the ability to provide advanced technology will be the key to success.

The XL Division technology will also be developed this year with prototypes available in the 3rd quarter.

Not to neglect the marking division, company officials admitted this part of the company does not fit the new structure, but no decision on exactly what will be done has been made yet. We can look for some progress on this issue (possibility of spin off) later this year.

The company promised more conference calls and announcements throughout the year to keep us appraised of progress.

All in all, a very down-to-earth conference call; absolutely no hype, but all business. I remain hopeful for holding our own this year and then busting out in 1999.

Please listen to the call and add what may strike you as significant. As I said at the beginning of this message, these are my notes, but obviously I could have missed significant comments or somehow accidentally mis-spoken in these notes. I am optimistic as to the future of this company.
