To all,

Regarding banner ads:

Go to siliconinvestor.com
Select Member Login
Type in your user name and password
From the main screen, do a search for a thread you want to view
Select a thread from the search list -- no banner ads

If you don't login, or you navigate via non-logged-in bookmarks even after you've logged in, the banner ads appear to remain. However, if you always bookmark AFTER the procedure listed above, then the first SI bookmark you select during a new browsing session will automatically prompt you for your SI user name and password, and no banner ads will appear. At least that's what I've found.

I guess the assumption was, when they wrote this program, that the SI client would always login first before perusing the threads. The problem arises if you've been lurking a bunch and have accumulated several pre-enrollment bookmarks or don't usually make it a practice to login even after you've enrolled.

In any event, the suppression of ads is kind of a nice, customer-centric frill, wouldn't you say?

Regards,
