Jozef Re "pretty much irrelevant to me as a consumer"

Yes that it true.

A VCR is a VCR is a VCR - but some people
pay twice as much (I do) for a Sony instead of a Goldstar.

Let's not forget that it is Intel who is calling the shots and doing the innovation while AMD and Cyrix are merely trying to copy
its footsteps.

I agree that if CPUs descend to the commodity status of hard-disk drives then the source of the chip becomes irrelevant.

But will this happen - what do you think?

FWIW: Whenever I feel really bad about my Intel stock a run-up seems to follow in a week or so

Jozef - Re: Intel Yields

If you have bought an Intel processor recently (Within the last two years), I may be able to get the yield information for you.

Please send me the Intel Lot number and date code stamped on the top of the package (and the Bottom of the package).

Paul
