Soaring Economy So Far Shrugs Off Asia Woes

dailynews.yahoo.com

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A quickening pace of manufacturing in March, reported by the nation's
purchasing managers Wednesday, and record construction activity suggested that a resilient
domestic economy was shaking off any drag from Asia's crisis.

A third report showed a key forecasting gauge posting a sharper-than-expected February gain that
analysts said meant the expansion has more room to run -- notwithstanding the hopes of Federal
Reserve policy-makers that it will lose a step.

The National Association of Purchasing Managers said its closely watched monthly index rose to
54.8 in March from 53.3 in February, well ahead of a consensus estimate of 52.9 made beforehand by
economists polled by Reuters.

Together with the silence of Greenpants and Fed, and the
euphoric market, we may see DOW at 10000 and average
P/E of SP500 over 30 soon. Should this happen, the
market is headed for a rude awakening.
