Phil,

Aren't your hopes and dreams destroyed already. If not, what kind of planet do you come from and what kind of stuff do you take.

Of interest re gold: (Barrick News Release)

"
Barrick Gold Corp ABX
Shares issued 373,029,871 Apr 1 close $30.25
Thu 2 Apr 98 In the News
Buy & Sell columnist Sonita Horvitch says in the Thursday edition of the
Financial Post that Barrick Gold is a top stock pick of Rolie Bradley, an
institutional salesman at Maison Placements Canada. Ms Horvitch notes the
stock, currently $30.70, has a 52-week range of $36.20 to $21.50. He says
the company has low mining costs and lots of cash. Overall, Mr Bradley says
the strong flow of funds into the North American equity market is
pressuring money managers to buy more equity, even though they think that
stocks are expensive. He is highlighting select natural gas stocks and some
low-cost gold producers in what he considers to be an overvalued Canadian
equity market. On the bullion price, his call is that there will be no more
European central bank selling of significance. The supply of newly mined
gold is being curtailed by the closure of high-cost mines around the world.
Against this, demand continues to strengthen. There is a supply shortfall
of 1000 tonnes a year.
