Things are quieting down and 17.5 is holding for now--but that is not particularly meaningful. what is more meaningful is the low volume. when volume picks up, it is impossible to predict what the direction will be at this time. Still the technical picture is negative with the 200 day line being violated. What will matter will be the quality of the next rally--ie: will it be on high volume? (greater than 300 thousand shares) or whether it will indeed be ac ountertrend rally and stop out at 19. The second big factor will be price's response to the next news, rather than the news itself. best, david g.

I have been following Trimble for a long time and can't quite figure it out. For a company in an $8 Billion business (by 2000)with significant patents and technology, the stock and company languishes. I have to believe that management is primarily at fault in the way they use their strong alliances poorly and in the way that they market their products. I haven't been on this thread for a while. Has there been any discussion of a TRMB takeover? With a horrible PEG ratio, I could see a confident organization believing that they could milk a lot more shareholder value out of the technology that TRMB has than Charlie has managed to (16% 5-year avg. annual growth rate vs. PE of 45). Maybe Honeywell would be interested? Motorola?

I have no interest in bad-mouthing CT or creating false hype, but am curious as to what others think of TRMB as a takeover target??
