Thanks Diana!

Sounds like your notes confirm the message, If Pete is talking buyback it's as good as done, in my book(IMHO). Pete has a history of being true to his word.

Thanks again,

Benny

Pooling or purchase, doesn't matter!!

Some investment bankers make you believe that pooling is a better way of acquisition than purchase. In my opinion its just an accounting jargon. it should not affect your decision in acquiring the company or running the business ie, buying back the stocks etc.,

hence the company should go ahead with its plans regardless of pooling or purchase. or else, peter kight should find a better investment banker.

Diana:

You got it right. My sense from the call is that CKFR management's enthusiasm for a buyback AT CURRENT PRICES is lukewarm at best. Pete spoke about going to the board to get authorization so they could implement IF the opportunity arose.

Regarding pooling vs. purchase accounting, this is more than an academic issue. It's important because there are very specific GAAP rules regarding when you can and cannot buy shares after a pooling deal and vice versa.

Hope this helps.
