Just some general information for you Sandmen. A large and early (buck a share ) outside stockholder recently passed away. He was a former stockbroker and still had friends and clients who worked together. His death coincided with the selling pressure on Sand. It would not be unexpected that his death and the loss of their mentor could have had a lot to do with the stock that was available. These folks had very low costs and therefore large profits, and had lost their contact. I have no knowledge that this happened, nor of the amounts of stock involved, but several hundred thousand is not unreasonable, and that they would lighten up given the situation is not unreasonable either.
If this was the case, it would answer a lot of questions,

April 15 may have been a sort of time top for the current bull market because up until then people are still pouring money into ira,s retirement plans ect. before the tax deadline, after that the money flow into the market may slow. I have no way of knowing what Thursday's and Friday's drops portend. Sold SAND at 11 7/8 and am waiting in a money market fund to get back in to the market when either I catch my breath a little or it has corrected and seems to be starting off the bottom. I realize this is a skittish strategy which could lose possible gains, but its beyond my risk comfort range to stay in the market right now.
