You'll look back and thank yourself. What's another 5 - 10% upside versus the possibility of significantly more downside? Paying taxes is a part of making money. I wished that I was paying more taxes this year. :-)

Lone, Loved the Maui comment. Every time I have thought the market couldn't get crazier, investors started wearing larger Napoleon hats. -g- However, the damage in individual issues was substantial, despite the close to 9000 on the Dow. Today is a real oddball. Most of what I consider the better situated tech stocks are flat to down, names like Dell, Hewlett, Compaq and Intel. While a lot of the ones with a rocky future are roaring up in price. Some good cos are also up, but this tech rally looks like it is led by the weak sisters to me.

Paying taxes is just one of those things successful investors have to deal with. I have been lucky in that regard in that I do so many hedged trades and one side of the hedge is always a loser and you can re-hedge the other side. Of course, that is just delaying the inevitable. And since I use so many hedges, nothing is considered long term on the gain side. Bummer, dude. Good luck, MB
