Tony, re: "Paul Engel agrees with me."
Do you think that Paul's non answer relative to the subject was agreement? Do you think Paul believes low yield is synonymous with poor reliability? Do you think Paul believes that AMD's chips are unreliable? Do you think Paul believes that IBM and Compaq have lower quality standards for the low price PC market? Do you think Paul believes that Intel's highest speed chips are unreliable because the yield is lower than the slower bin-outs? (Which often happens, especially on the high end of the latest chip intros). Why don't you ask him these specific questions since these are your claims. And don't talk generalities, keep it to AMD.

NEC Computer Systems Division (NEC CSD) of Packard Bell NEC, Inc., in partnership with Tokyo-based NEC Corporation today will demonstrate a new notebook computer technology in an unprecedented form factor with the Intel(R) Pentium II Processor Mobile Module, to be announced later this spring.

NEC Corporation is integrating its new 1/4 inch display technology and its engineering and manufacturing expertise to bring to life an ultrathin Pentium II processor based notebook computer with a full-size keyboard and a modular bay.

In the first public showing of this new technology, NEC CSD and NEC Corporation today will demonstrate this new technology at Intel's worldwide launch of the Mobile Pentium II processor in Santa Clara, Calif., and Tokyo. Intel's fastest chip available for a notebook computer -- the 266 MHz Pentium II processor is integrated into the new Versa via the Intel Mobile Module.

''Our goal for this notebook computer is to achieve full functionality without compromising performance or usability for our customers. Our collaboration with NEC Corporation has allowed us to bring to market a powerful thin and light computer backed by NEC CSD's built-to-order distribution model and our award winning customer services,'' said Robert Levin, vice president of NEC CSD's Portable Products Group.

This new notebook computer technology is designed as a savvy computing solution for the business professional who requires the performance of a desktop computer in a lightweight form factor. At under 5.0 lbs. in weight and 1.3 inches in height, the system incorporates cutting-edge technology including the new thin and light LCD panel designed by NEC
Corporation. NEC has also incorporated dual battery capabilities to maximize uptime.

The new Versa product is the first notebook computer to utilize this new screen technology created by NEC Corporation. The new TFT (thin film transistor) LCD panel is 1/4 inch thick, 33 percent thinner than previous LCD panels, weighs up to 10 percent less than its predecessors and consumes less power. NEC has maintained the durability of the screen by using advanced polycarbonate materials in the display casing.

''The combination of Intel's new Pentium II processor mobile module and NEC Corp's new screen technology in this innovative thin & light form factor makes for a truly exciting product,'' said Stephen Nachtsheim, Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Mobile and
Handheld Product Group.
