Amazon's success is tied directly to the popularity of the internet for retail commerce. I am not going to debate the success or more importantly the timeframe for the internet's growth here.

I noticed you dodged the question of what defines an "Internet stock". and tried to change the subject. You seem quick to declare what isn't an internet stock isn't but will not say what is?

Clearly false. If the internet disappears tomorrow Amazon is finished. The fact that it is highly unlikely that the internet will do anything but grow is besides the point. Amazon is an internet stock and its success is tied to the internet. The popularity of the internet defines the *potential* market for Amazon. I would agree it is not the only factor that defines Amazon's success (competition being another important factor) but it is a very significant one.
