Eh... Gstrf and Irridium user equipment will be an interesting race to watch. Remember that one thing holding back IS95 was the lack of variety and slow availability of handsets?

By the time GSTRF goes commercial, Qcom could be drowning in Q-phone orders and any new models they come up with. I don't want that holding up GSTRF.

On a related note, one of the local cellphone specialty stores (InfoPlanet) is advertising the AudioVox CDM3000, Motorola SC-725, LGC 300W, and Nokia 2180. Except for 800mhz Q-phone and Motorola SC-725 (taking orders on both of these), the other phones are available for $98, after $50 rebate and 1 year service. GTE is the provider.

IS95 isn't commodity yet. But, I hope that the prices are now in line with consumer's expectations (even the glove-box users.)
