Mesaba, I am not ridiculing transsexuals, I am trying to understand their feelings. I can't quite understand going from a man to a lesbian after the sex change. I am not condemning it. I don't get it.

There was one case shown in on TV a couple of years ago where a man and his wife both had sex changes, and stayed together, after they had a child. They both seemed happy in their new roles.

"You have to realize that sex is not gender".
Wholeheartedly agree. Sex is the sum total of sexual experience. Gender is a grammatical term. I do not have a gender. I have a sex.
The word "transgender" grates on my sensibilities imho. I protest the modern trend to use the superficially polite but misused term "gender" for sex issues.
Just my $.02
