Short Interest

Thanks for the info. If those numbers reflect the situation as of 3/27/98, then it would mean that there was not a lot of short covering with the early part of the stock price rise, or at least that new shorts outweighed any covering. My guess is that many people who were short at the low 20's probably covered if they were on margin, but that a whole bunch of new shorts came in when it reached past 30. I'm basing this guess on recent put volumes for 30 and 32.5 for April 18. Unfortunately, it's just a guess.
