Oooh, Compaq sells 200 notebooks over Dell... there goes the quarter!

Consider the source of the article... Reseller News. They hate Dell.
Dell has been ruining their business for years. Seems to me several
months back they stated that Dell was doomed because Compaq had
won several large business contracts from Dell. "Dell's cost
advantage has all but disappeared" they said.

Look what happened. Look how Dell's Q4 turned out. Look how Compaq's Q1 will be turning out.

Search as far back as you can go for CMP Reseller News articles.
Every one of them predicts Dell will be hurtin soon because Compaq,
HP, IBM have figured out how to profitably undercut Dell by using
middlemen and building to forecast.. THEY WISH. These guys will write an article about Dell losing it's advantage if Joe's garage buys 5 Compaq desktops in favor of Dell. It's a source of humor and amusement for the direct channel players.

BTW, Next they'll write and article about how CompUSA is selling far more Compaqs than Dells. <gg>

Eddie:
<<<Price War -- Dell Losing Ground To Compaq >>>
Perhaps you can spread this one around a bit more, and help keep
Dell price down a bit so we can buy more before it breaks loose to the upside. I would guess Mr Kaufman is done talking .(:O)
