Interesting comments by the chair of SONY, Norio Ohga. Basically, said that the Japanese economy is near collapse. In a series of related comments to a Japanese audience, however, he only said the Japanese economy is near a state of total stagnation.

Kid - KLIC said they felt comfortable with estimates a few months ago, and now the quarter is a disaster. [Paraphrase]

Well, as I've said before, CEO's tend to be a great source for microeconomic details, but lousy as macroeconomics. Only the old hands tend to look at the macro-economics (e.g. Bagley at Lam). It's human nature.
