trade what you know and how you know it.......

your strategy might be one of those in-betweeners....

hold for awhile..but not long term...long enough for what you know to settle into the market place...

I would think it would be difficult for you to daytrade as you need to be able to keep an eye on it......

my advice to you would be to watch those stocks you know....and get a feel for them....and how they trade....

I am still doing that with this sector.....I do believe there will be more "routing" ahead...and thoughts of gloom and doom on this thread...especially for those that say THEY WILL NOT SELL

Doug, since you are in the industry you have a great position to know who is the best, rather than taking it just from the numbers. With that kind of position you are in great shape to INVEST in outstanding companies and make A LOT of money.

Notice the emphasis on INVEST. My advice to you, since you are just beginning, is to cut out the cute stuff (day trading) and invest long term for the big returns. With all your spare time (you won't have to be nervous about every other second during the trading day) you can then read all of our comments with the same joy and admiration we have for ourselves here. <VBG>

Stick around and you can come to the party.

Doug

As you can see from lurking here, there is a TON of info everyday...some good, some not so good, some funny, some not so funny. As far as expertise goes, I am at the bottom of the food chain among the pro's in the oil patch.

Welcome.. you'll find this a congenial group...only problem is keeping up with the volume.

Tom
