Did anybody notice the big move in Lycos today? Well, Lycos signed big advertising contracts (over $18 million worth), and the stock jumps quickly. People are now beginning to realize that Cyberspace is worth more than anyone had imagined. How does this affect Ameritrade?, you wonder. Simply put, what do you imagine is the potential value of their cyberspace? Ameritrade is adding accounts at an enormous clip. If they can attain 500,000 active accounts over the next few years, what will advertising be worth on the Ameritrade Web site? Quite a bit more than anybody realizes. After all, wouldn't Allstate love to advertise its Homeowner's insurance at a target market? Or maybe Conseco advertises Life Insurance. Or maybe auto insurance to Farmer's Insurace. Just think about this new commodity, Cyberspace. It might fuel Ameritrade's big run. I may be early, but I guarantee I'm not wrong. Just giving you people food for thought.
