Such a beneficial simultaneous has never happened before. Its as simple as that. The old timers and I bet Mr Greenspan bought his first stock before 1970! just have their previous experience to go on. A bit like trying to find your way from La Gurdia to 50th Stand Park using a map prepared by Peter Stuyvesant. There is that phrase that sends shivers down my spine. It's the "this is no market like any other" syndrome. Seems that was the same thing said in the 1920's. All conventional wisdon no longer applies. It's cult investing and herd mentality. Then again the same thing was said in the 50's and 60's. Same thing was said in Japan in the 80's. Yet what is the company that you buy really worth? As to what I do with my money, as some in this thread will attest, I always tell folks to do their own homework. I don't talk about the amount or size of my portfolio. I have been an advocate of QCOM, NT, LU for a longtime. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. I also have had bonds and frankly when interest rates go down bond value goes up. So my play into bonds, when last near 7%, return quite nicely, thank you. It ain't rock and roll high flying, no earnings INternet stocks, but it better than money in the bank. I dabble in option as well and if you go back a few days you'll see where I said May 55's. For the record I sold them today, for a nice gain. Because I stated that I feel there is a correction at hand you have decided to question me about my investment style. Over time I have done very well. Now I'll say it again; a correction is at hand and may start Monday. Not a crash or a bear market (although you never know when or where it starts), but your good ole gut wrenching 6-10% decline which is normal and healthy in any and all bull markets. This ain't any different that others and if you are marching to others beat's, then that is your choice. Myself, I have always done my own beating, my goals are more modest than 30-40% returns per year, albeit I have done better than even that in some years. I'm quite satisfy to average 12-20%, but if I get more then I consider it a blessing. An old adage on the street "If you think a stock loves you, ask it!! Don't wait too long for an answer, however....."
