Rogue Wave Software (RWAV:Nasdaq) dived 6 1/2, or 41.9%, to 9 1/16 after warning that it expects its second-quarter earnings to come in at four to five cents per share -- below the three-analyst estimate of 13 cents and the year-ago seven cents.

This looks like a GREAT SHORT after the dead-cat bounce occurs!

Pancho, - Thanks for a very interesting piece from "The Washington Post". I only wish that Game Theory was taught in that interesting a fashion back in the good ole '60's, it would have made learning fun. Ah, progressive education. The results seem to reflect general human nature, a la the "fear and greed" factor. With the self-fulfilling prophecy of Dow 9,000 at hand, the trading volume of the Dow does not appear to be currently signaling any strong signs of a blow-off top (classic buying climax). The flow of monies into US investments continues to flood the marketplace. There once was a time when mutual funds formidably competed for the investment dollar, and thus the no-load fund was created as an attractive alternative vehicle sans commission fees. I get the visual impression of some of the big, prosperous mutual fund managers as Scrooge McDuck sitting atop the mounds of cash in their vaults. This money HAS to be invested somewhere, or the fund's cash positions will become disproportionately high.

I can see it now, <G> - Fidelity Funds announced today it has tripled it's cash positions by doing absolutely nothing this past month. No one could be reached at any office, but a bottle of suntan lotion was found outside the door of one NYC office. <G>

South Korea down 4.49%, Nikkei down slightly Japanese gold up 2%. Tomorrow we hit 9,000 and about next Thursday Abbey Joseph Cohen raises Dow target to 10,000. I just hope Asia doesn't spoil the fun. Tick, tick, tick.
