xylene, that is a ridiculous statement and shows no knowledge of the space at all. RSA's algorithms and Certicom's ECC are frequently used in different applications - so your generic statement about RSA's PIE is simply wrong. In addition, RSA now offers ECC in its BSAFE toolkit - broadening its scope of deals to a considerable extent.

I agree with Trader Dave and chirodoc's earlier comments. While this is certainly disappointing, the fact remains the overall security software space is among the fastest growing on the planet, is just starting to take off, and SDTI will soon launch one of the (if not THEE) most significant integrated security suite's in the world.

The general token market is projected to grow almost 50% per year through 2001. As the overwhelming dominant force, SDTI could just grow this business and do fine. Add RSA, Verisign, Intrusion Detection, SSO, and possibly other segments in the future, and their prospects look bright.

That does not mean I'm not nervous, but I believe the odds are much more in favor of this company rebounding than of it losing ground.
