That story was out early today. If it didn't do much damage til now I don't think it'll hurt us much tomorrow.

Furthermore, assuming investors can see beyond the headlines, this could actually be a positive for DGIV with all of its international business focus. Much of DGIV's business well be unaffected by U.S. taxes. Plus, with an international presence even the U.S. taxes might be "skirtable."

My 2 cents,

Sandy

Kirk, that applies to U.S Calls, not overseas. They can't regulate the World, Impossible, although they often try.<vbg>

Kirk,

Good find. I'm not sure what to make of this. I don't know much about FCC regulation of overseas traffic or whether the FCC is even involved in regulating international long distance. Do we have any FCC experts out there??

It seems to me that DGIV's primary markets are overseas where the impact of FCC regulation is likely to be the least. Of all the companies in the Internet telephony business, I would guess this would affect DGIV less than the other players in the field.

Reactions anybody??

Rick

That's good News and not Bad News!

VERY GOOD NEWS:
If you think it is bad news, I think you should go back
to a reading class:

Look at what is written :

"...Analysis, a leading telecommunications consulting firm based in
London, PREDICTS THAT BY 2003, ABOUT 25% of ALL INTERNATIONAL PHONE TRAFFIC --or 45 BILLION MINUTES OF VOICE CALLS--will bypass the public telephone network and be carried over the Internet.
That compares with less than 1% of voice traffic carried over the
Internet today."

This is BIG BIG BIG MONEY$$$$$
Even if they eventually tax it they will not stop it.
Internet phone will also provide more services not available
currently. Even if they were the same price.
DGIV will be there first with the right contracts.
They will be able to pay the taxes if any, and I doubt
about it.
The worst that could happen to DGIV if they execute well would
be to be assimilated by the borg... in 2003 ?
$$$$$
GO DGIV.

KLOBERT.
