I'm really sorry that happened to you. We got our system after some jerks broke in and stole my two guitars, among other things. I'd had those babies since I was 14 years old. One was a beautiful 12 string that I had acquired after working in a music store, giving guitar lessons. DEATH TO ALL THIEVES!

John, Come down to Texas. Here you can use lethal force in defense of property. About every month you read about a burglar getting "smoked" by a property owner somewhere in the State. Also three years ago we followed Georgia and passed a concealed weapon permit law. About 450,000 permits to carry concealed weapons have now been issued in the State of Texas since then.

And just like the State of Georgia, both the violent crime and property crime rates have dropped subsequent to passage of the law. Other factors at work I'm sure such as George Bush Jr.'s excellent work as Governor, and a booming economy, and also criminals move to States with weaker laws and easier pickings.

But to be sure, it has made the freeways and public facilities much more "civilized" since there are now 450,000 additional "unmarked deputy sheriffs" floating around in the State of Texas at all times and places... and you never know if one is standing next to you....

Sincerely,

Doug F.

John,

Sorry to hear about your situation. It's a damn shame how crazy things have gotten in this society. People wonder why his dawgship and I live in such remote places. I can tell you this was a major decision factor for me. Living in a major US city or even a crowded suburban area has gotten to be so dangerous in our lifetime that I decided a longer commute time for me was worth the peace of mind gained from living 60 miles away from the "action".

I hope you and your wife can feel safer with a dog ( or two).
