You also said the $49 eSuite was going to take the world by storm by now. Obviously, this isn't going to happen any time soon is it? So what is the real status of Java TODAY? The Javastation demoed at Javaone crashed every 5 minutes and Zander of Sun has already commented that it will take another 6 months before its ready. JDK 1.1 is painfully incomplete and buggy. So, it will take another 12 months at least before the new features of 1.2 are usable. Remember when Mr. Gosling said that strange and bizarre political problems ruined his previous baby (NeWS). Well, he ain't seen nothing yet. The political problems surrounding Java are only beginning.
