I don't know how much revenue WD extracts from SCSI business. My guess will be 15%-20% by now considering the revenue decrease from desktop due to pricing environment. I have heard that they are making money on all three SCSI drives: 2G, 4G and 9G. I don't know why QNTM will lose money on SCSI while WD can make money on SCSI. But, one thing that is obvious is that 9G has at least $100 cost advantage relative to competitors due to 4 less platters and 8 less HSA's in WD's 9G SCSI.
WD press said many OEMs had qualified the 9G. I think that the SCSI business is pulling desktop business from deep water at this moment. How much the pulling? We'll find out on April 29.

p/s: 9G for 6 platters, then it is 1.5 G/p. This is MR also.
