As to when to get back in, take it from someone who thought 62 or so was a good entry point months ago - yes! a good time to enter :-)

I agree: you (doug) don't want this stock to get away from you. It may never see this level again.

I bought at $45 last fall, sold at $61, and then watched in horror as it went to $71. It wasn't until I had sold that I realized how much I like Qualcomm: excellent technology, smart management, lots going on to position itself long-term, entering the consumer space, etc.

Not having held through the October and February crashes, I was very happy to see the $40s again. My take on QCOM is that it has redundantly corrected for Asian weakness, weakness that has turned out not to be that big a deal in the first place.

This time I'm going to follow Gregg's advice (thanks for all the great posts, btw) and take the long, long term approach to QCOM and hold for a long, long time.

What makes you think I missed MSFT. For the record, as hard as this will be or sound, I bot MSFT in 1987 and sold it in 1991, bot again in 92 on a friends strong fist pounding recommendation. Sold it last year in January (same friend a IT type). I exceeded my goals ten times + with the stock and have no regrets selling it. (Folks that have bot recently have a very LONG way to go to get the return I have already had).

My rampages and rants are more to do with Gates and Co. attacks on my profession than anything (telecommunications). For him and his croonies to bash telco's and telecommunication for being, of all things, monopolistic, comes under the heading of "the pot calling the kettle black!!". To accuse them of all the problems of the Internet, is also as ludicrous. Besides, the shares and bonds I bot with that money have done VERY well. (BTW, I also sold CSCO and INTC (gone no where) at the sametime, plus my most embarassing admission, DELL. Truth of the matter, I expected a slow down in the computing industry. I was early. Y2K is going to put pressures on IT budgets, IMO). Hey Surfer Mike, see don't feel so bad-:)

As to QCOM. I like the stock, but to say or compare with MSFT??? Wal-Mart is a bit of a stretch for me at this point (another qdog stock of old).
