At the great risk of setting that wannabe politician Ramsey off on another tirade, the concept of needing immigration to support old people is becoming out of date. Sony owns Qualcomm Personal Electronics. Sony has lots of Japanese who it will support when they are old through dividends and pensions [I assume they pay pensions]. Same for Nissan. Same for many other Japanese companies.

Japan has few problems compared with other countries. Nationalism is increasingly a doomed concept. It is now very difficult for countries to "own" their populations. Who leave for better lives. Who seek more income. Who invest worldwide. Japan was highly nationalistic. They are determinedly internationalistic now. Hashimoto setting of "big bang" in financial markets as London did in the 80s.

Dropping populations is a certainty worldwide. The old Malthusian crock, still widely believed, of humans breeding the planet into submission is rot. Women have control of conception and they are going to have to be paid to have babies. And they'll only want good ones. Hard to believe when you get elbowed off the footpath in most large cities. But check out how many babies women are having anywhere around the world. Other than a few places.

So what? There are still heaps of people and quality, not quantity is what counts. Women will demand quality as they always have, contrary to the human rights nonsense about no discrimination and all that. They discriminate, quite capriciously. And rightly so. If quantity mattered, Bangladesh would be rich and Switzerland, Luxembourg etc poor. But they aren't. So populations will drop, quality will go up and few people with their amazing machines can support heaps.

Japan is well off and will be weller off! Despite their dropping population. They have civilisation. That is the source of wealth. Hard work and brains helps too. I suppose luck and flossing are essential as well. Mucki Sushi is yummy too and fortunately there is no patent on it.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, Japan will instal cdmaOne, and Japanese, who are well off, happy and love talking on their phone, will buy millions of cdmaOne handsets. Starting in a couple of months.

This or some other news will provide the analysts who frustrate Gregg with their upcoming cognitive dissonance with the necessary fig leaf to revise their Qualcomm forecasts to: "Of course you have to have Qualcomm in your portfolio" from "Omigod, look at Korea!!! Look at the whole of Asia collapsing. Oh, no! Qualcomm has 80% of its mdca phone chip thingies in Korea. Sell, sell, sell".

They'll have to hurry because one of the vertical climbs on huge volume that Qualcomm does, never to return to such low levels has begun. So send me lunch vouchers all who took my recommendation. Big lunch vouchers!!!

Yayy Limtex, down with Ramsey! Have you filled the truck with Qualcomm Ramsey?

Good timing qdog! Just saw yours. Good luck. I'm betting on the never before in human history theory. So far, so good! Prudential's Ralph Angostura or whatever his vacillating name is, has flipped a couple of times in panic at some downturns. Couldn't hack the pace. Be brave. There is nowhere to go but the future. It's looking good.
