Hi Steve

At this stage, I think you're correct. Eric Schmidt has done an excellent job so far at turning around Novell. Now he's proven he can get things done, I think it's time that he got a free hand in the running of the company, without any of the 'baggage' that comes along from the bad old days....

Regards

Peter

Off topic PS: I just discovered that misspelled words are highlighted in red. Not much use if you're red/green colour blind like me and 10% of the male population. Clever technology, not so clever user interface :-)

Steve:

>>It's time for Mr Young to leave. If this were to happen, I'd buy in a second, and I believe there are many others who feel as I do.>>

Here, here....!

I suspect we will experience the inevitable slow, fading, slide below $10. Going south is not negative for Novell. Actually, I think its a requirement. We attracted too much positive baggage in the quick move into the $10-11 range. Many momemtum players, etc. Lets just see how committed these folks really are.

Owning Novell in this area just off the bottom requires a very high level of pain. Its always way too easy to see a below $10 stock and rechannel profits elsewhere. This is what I think has been happening to Novell as the recent good press has been coming in.

Now I think it time for some good old fashion negative pain. For Novell's chance to move higher more persistently I sure hope we can see some doubts entering into the picture.

I'm still very committed to Novell, but I have great respect for Mr. Market. He's a good teacher. And he still has Novell firmly in play for more surprises. We aren't going higher for the short term unless, as Steve may dream, Mr. Young steps aside.

The MMs should recommit new inventory in the high $8 to low $9 range. Just my reasoning based on the need to restock long positions of the size necessary to move through $11, $12 and higher.

Check out Andy Grove's comments about the rise of networks, PC connectivity and bandwidth in this weeks BW. Sounds like he's reading Schmidt's scripts.

Either way, Novell is turning around. Enjoy the action, everyone.
