I've never bought currency futures but if you want to play a particular market and want a guarantee on principal take a look into Merrill Lynch MITTS they are issued at $ 10 and track a certain index.
Example symbol JEM tracks the Nikkei and is $ 10 x (Nikkei/21,000) x 110% trades at 8 11/16 matures in 2003 I think. Even if the Nikkei goes to 0 you get $ 10 back. Theres one that track S&P 500 etc. ML is able to do this because the buy STRIPS for pricncipal payment and index futures with the difference to get to $ 10.

Charles, I am man with a great sense of humour. And as being such, I compliment you have a truly excellent sense of what is funny. I laughed so hard that I hurt myself. Seriously. I fell off my pew at the thought of you engaging aggressively with those cats. Man, you have a gift. I only wish it existed in all people. I sincerely hope you make an obscene amount of profits, so you can at least buy some anti-freeze. Why, anti-freeze? I heard cats like to drink it. (apologies to all cat lovers, everywhere). Maybe we can go into a joint venture. I have an idea for a new kid's game...it will be called "Hammering Cats". Basically the kid gets a box with a hammer in it along with a couple of rough drawings of cats. The rest you can guess.

Best of luck.

p.s. I love Pop-Tarts, especially low fat chocolate and low fat blueberry...yum.

:)
