<<..In conclusion he reports that PT is the primary precious metal.

"The Oro Grande property is a Pt-Au occurrence in a previously unrecognized and favourable setting. It has unqestionably highly anomalous PT values and very favourable Pt/Pd ratios in several rock types in a brecciated hydrothermally altered mafic complex which is presumed to be underlain by a younger pluton. The property deserves serious attention."..>>
Not all Plutons were Granitic in composition makeup. Some -Gabbo rather than basaltic. Gabbro is also crystallising to form constructive plate boundries ...ie magmatic chambers within which these oceanic gabbros crystallise are ten ( 10 Folks) or more kilometers ( mult by .67 to get a mile or divide/ 2.0ish factor ) WIDE!!! !
Above from D Rothery - "Geology" Page 75 paraphrased, below page 75 exact:
" Large granite massifs such as ...Half Dome at Yosemite N. P. - El Capte..... Sometimes , geophysical evidence suggest that several plutons are joined together at depth , in which case the larger unit is referred to as a " BATHOLITH." The relationship between a pluton and a batholith is shown in Figure 6.5 ( Folks I will try fixed font here as YOU ( IE Dick & Dennis) must see that a plutons looks like in the picture here an ISLAND rising out of a sea ( actually ywo islands here but picture one as the Oro Grande Mine!) so that the base is the gently slooping up from depth ...curves are the seawater around the shallows, in my minds eye...so is the 6-10 miles arround the ORO GRANDE MINE ...thus that is why Weaver Creek is rich, tho a few miles north.
