I wouldn't count on it. While NAB would certainly be an appropriate venue, there's no indication that the product is anywhere near being ready to even demo. Announcing a product that is not even demo-ready runs strongly contrary to Apple's current policy of not announcing before shipping. Of course, you never know with Jobs...

On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if Jobs announced important component technologies for the AMP. Expect a major QT 3.0 demo, maybe a FireWire announcement, and possibly some updates on the operating systems that will make multimedia thin clients more attractive.

While I wouldn't expect Jobs to drop any major announcements that are not directly related to the audience, he might toss a few tidbits about Apple's general health. He might, for example, drop some sales numbers of market share figures as a sly way of preannouncing a positive earnings surprise.

Any other thoughts out there?
