Well, we could take to making posts like Burma Shave signs, that appear in their entirety in the thread listing. That would perhaps be a little challenging for Moonray though.

As to slowness, I noticed incredible slowness a couple of weeks ago, especially around 5:00pm, right after this new enhanced format on SI. I thought at the time it was possibly related. I saw your referenced message about waiting plenty - too plenty.

But I have to say in the last week I haven't seen any real slowness at all at any time of the day. I also suspected my move to Prodigy, as being the culprit, but kinda dispelled that when I cross accessed with IBM.NET. But I'm in Boston, so my ping route is guaranteed different from you. (Actually, Mr Stetson, there in Houston, may have the fewest jumps to get to Kansas of the regulars here. This may be the reason for his normally subdued posts.)

I think that am aware that your options with isp's are limited from what you posted in the past, but still, without wanting to rub it in, I would bet that your delays are locally to you out there, and that that is your real bottleneck. I have been seeing lots of apparently fast repartee on some of the threads, from many that I know are in SF area, so just guessing, I would say that there are some fast links with SI not too far away from you.

But for a data point for you, east of Kansas, it seems fairly fast.
