Sanders' comment on 0.25 um K6 yield on 3/2/98 in the annual report
"To meet the evolving demands of our major customers for high-speed processors in greater volume at lower prices, we must achieve a rapid migration to our next generation technology, 0.25 um CS44E. We have seen good results on this technology in our Submicron Development Center in CA and encouraging results recently in Fab 25 [dated 3/2, on 4/7/98 he will talk about excellent yield seen in 0.25 um K6 production in Fab 25], our Texas production facility. We have commenced the transition in our Texas megafab to CS44E 0.25 um technology, and expect that by the end of current qtr [1Q98] the majority of wafer starts will be on this technology. We plan to convert all wafer starts for AMD K6 processors to 0.25 um technology by the end of the second qtr [2Q98]."
