Portable DVD players............................... digitaltheater.com Toshiba Corp. is the front runner in portable DVD players. The electric machinery giant began marketing its SD-P410 portable DVD player last November. The player is 18cm x 25.5cm, 4.7 cm thick and weighs in at 1.2 kg. The product can be easily plugged in tomost televisions for easy viewing. A spokesperson for Toshiba says the player was produced in dark green and black to give it a high-end feel and differentiate it from hand-held video games, which are often lighter in color though of similar size. By making these players portable, Toshiba and Matsushita are hoping they will catch on for commercial and industrial use, including being taken along as presentation tools for door-to-door sales or in corporate salespitches.
