I don't think there are any competitors with shrink wrap product in IDMS COBOL translation. I think IAI is way ahead here.

If there is a feature battle between 2 shrink wrap vendors, the details get a bit technical.

With the other shrink wrap products in the same family, and CA's supporting analysis and testing products, this suite seems unstoppable.

My best question remains "Where has HAL Informatica gone?" I wonder if that Recyc 2000 stuff was vaporeware. Did IBM really use it? Does IBM have a translator for COBOL II and DB/2 and the rest? This seems more interesting than IDMS, as the CA universe seems mostly locked up from what I know.
