You should be aware of the conditions under which he left Intel.

Vin Dham was in charge of the Pentium design team. The FPU bug surfaced during his reign and when Intel lost $500 Million replacing these chips, Vin Dham resigned "for personal reasons", just like when he left AMD at the hight of the K6 yield crash problems for "personal reasons".

Intersetingly, the K6 has FPU bugs every bit as serious as Intel's famous FDIV bug, but because the K6 isn't taken seriously by anyone for serious computing, no one seems to care. But that's another story..
