"transgendered" I like the earlier term "transsexual". I liked your explanations of drawing external or outward sexual identity into line with inner sexual identity. Once in college, a fellow and I were discussing something "deep". Without really thinking about it, I remember saying "just because I don't understand a thing doesn't mean I can't respect it." He went all wide-eyed like I'd said something radical. It took me years and the loss of my cherished naivete to discover that remarkably few people think that way. They need operations or something to be drawn into congruence with the inner monkey. (Yup. Harrumph.)
