Jim, I'm beginning to get a bit exasperated with this! I can't give you a mail-order course in finance for free! It's called business risk. Why don't you invest in, or re-read a college level text on finance. There are lots of good ones out there. Arguing over definitions is counter-productive. Definitions are accepted as conventions so we may all talk a common language and understand one another.

You are correct in that there is risk in investing; however, being wrong big time is a function of the homework or due diligence one does.
