<<It's interesting that my precious metal mutual funds are significantly outperforming solid little juniors like RIC. >>

Typically when a new bull market begins or gold moves off a low level that we have today the senior producers will move first, the junior producers are close behind and when these both get pricy money flows into the explorers.

This is why in RSA, we positioned ourselve in Placer and Barrick around the December lows and recently added Bema that has had a nice move lately.

You first want stocks that are popular with big market cap, the funds will bid these up first

In the last bull move up to $420, Placer and Barrick, roughly tripled. Later on some juniors had even better moves and the exploration plays went beserk in what I called ' mining mania'

This process could repeat itself again very quickly as there is a huge amount of money out there and the PMs market is tiny.

Funds are underweighted in gold and they will have to bring their weightings up if they are going to try and match the indexes

I might add that, succesful explorers can be rewarding at any time. Some of these could be the DDs <g>
