"Don't think that Oracle has much of a chance against Microsoft"

"Oracle doesn't offer an integrated solution"

"Microsoft will also introduce a data warehousing product targeting
Oracle's core database business"

Richard:

With statements like these, you are showing all of us her how ignorant you are. Also consider the fact that you posted these statements on an ORCL thread w/o a modicum of substantive info or thought to back up such utterly ludicrous statements. This also show us what a complete fool you are.

If you wish to come across with any degree of credibility AT LEAST explain why you think the way you do -- cuz none of your statements seem well thought out.

First, ORCL maintains a substantial position in the database market. Explain to us how it "doesn't stand a chance." If you think MSFT will steal marketshare from ORCL purely on price, you will only continue to add to the lowly opinion you've already established for yourself here. Do your understand how databases work & what decisions go into purchasing one? So tell us what you know. It shouldn't take long.

Second, explain what you mean by "Oracle doesn't offer an integrated solution." ORCL is more than a database company. To quote the Company's profile from Yahoo:

"ORCL designs, develops, markets and supports computer software products with a wide variety of uses, including database management, application development and business intelligence tools and business applications."

Sounds pretty integrated to me. What part don't you understand?

Third, you say that "Microsoft will also introduce a data warehousing product targeting Oracle's core database business." What core database business are you referring to? I don't believe you even know what you are asserting here. If you did, you would know that MSFT is incapable of competing with ORCL in its core markets.

Sorry to be blunt, here Richard, but your post was utterly ludicrous. Tell us, did you just post because you're a MSFT fan & you gloating because ORCL just lost 10% of its market cap over the past 2 trading sessions? Or do you really have something substantive to add here. Pray tell -- us all.

Just want to second "lml"s opinion (http://www.techstocks.com/~wsapi/investor/s-4237/reply-6737).

Seems you have bought the bs from Redmond ... comparing MS with proper computing companies is like comparing McDonalds with a proper restaurant ...

Just my 5c worth of course ....
