What on earth are you talking about, Michael? There is a huge difference between believing that the 15,000,000 children in America who are going hungry should be fed nutritiously at school, and assuming that each school district must run their own food service program. If you will reread your own post on the subject, you will note that taxpayer dollars are going to fund the private, contracted, program in the school districts. Are you having a problem understanding? The school districts contract with the private companies to provide meal service, but taxpayer dollars provide the funding to pay for the service for poor children.

I am not a poor victim of any sort, Michael. I am simply pointing out that if you want to post to me in a cordial way, it would help to not misrepresent most of my beliefs at every turn. Many others on this thread do understand that I am not a leftist/socialist or a Christian hater, so you only look ridiculous to most people when you do that. I think you would be viewed in a more favorable light if you wrote about reality, rather than fantasy. Most people do not think it is fair play to constantly smear others.

You did seem to take objection to my calling you a Christian. Because I am basically polite, I apologized at that point. You would do well to learn the give and take that is helpful if you want to have civilized discourse on the net.

I have never been a leftist, and am certainly not turning to the right, either. I have always been a moderate, believing that a combination of free enterprise and governmental regulation create the most equitable, balanced societies.

Incidentally, Colin Powell, with whom I am sure you are familiar, has come out recently and said that troubled youth are the most serious problem America has. This ties in nicely with whether we might spring for feeding starving children at school so they can learn, us being the wealthiest nation on earth and everything!!
