I think current events are such that the price rise was justified, just as prior events justified dumping this slag pile like a hot potato [Dan, if you're reading this: p-o-t-a-t-o]. I would never have considered buying if the fundamentals weren't there to support it should things have gone awry. On the bright side, they actually did allow excess product to drain out of the channel and they really are serious about keeping tighter control of inventory. The problems are: a complete lack of focus on their core business; a disfunctional software development process, utterly disastrous that is; a CEO that makes chickens running around with their heads cut off look intelligent, cool and deliberate; and finally an irrational and dangerous aversion to cost control. Specifically, they place the entire company and its shareholders in peril by refusing to implement staff reductions and move marginal employees forward in a positive direction -- that is, fire their collective butts.
