Just Thought I'd Check In... I don't remember when I visited this thread last, but, gosh, so little has changed. OC, who was on my favorite SEEK thread for a while until he predicted SEEK would hit 12 or 13 or some such silliness, is back over here. Still enmeshed in the continuing drama that is NETZ. And he's still getting a LOT of attention. FWIW, and it ain't worth much folks, viewed from the perspective of somebody who helps clients buy advertising on various Web venues and someone whose company just signed a rather large deal (large being a relative term: $750,000)with DCLK for one of our clients, NETZ seems very dicey to me. If they are counting on remaining a force, and not a farce, in Web advertising, they'd better start getting their collective acts together pronto. Because members of their "network" are bolting and investigating other revenue sources. That said, who knows? There are dynamics at play in these sorts of stocks that, as we all know, have more to do with Web-frenzy (heck, DCLK is a good, though quite solid, example) and froth than anything else. And the only thing that will be meaningful about financials, IMO, will be (a) that they exist and (b) that they've been put together by a reputable source. The one thing these financials will not show is, IMHO, a trend... and the trend is currently NOT NETZ's friend. From a core business standpoint, the company's base--the advertising network--is under assault and eroding. I'm NOT saying that they can't or won't shore up their base. But, having met the DCLK folks and several others in this very intense business, NETZ has got a long way to go to rebuild its operations. In the meantime, others are nibbling on some of their sites. Remember, all that member sites are interested in is REVENUES from advertisers. They don't care where those revenues come from. And, right now, I think it would be safe to say that NETZ isn't doing a STERLING job of representing these sites to potential advertisers. Obviously, I wish everybody good fortune with their investments. And, again, this is JUST my opinion. I have no vested interest in either side of the NETZ debate. And would happily do business with them if they were in a position to bring anything interesting to the table. Further, I'd love the opportunity to make some money here on this investment. Good Luck and Best Regards, c m
