Eskimo Bob:

"At the risk of being crapped on...."

I apologize if my post to Richard might created an impression that the atmosphere here is non-tolerant. The general tone of this thread is one that is informative, intelligent & stimulating, both from a strategic/technology point of view as well as investing strategy.

I just find unrealistic wishful statements like Richard's post to be somewhat irritating, especially when they are not supported by any modicum of rational thought, but are merely presented to gloat.

I, for one, take your comments with merit. You raise important issues that the market weighs in the collision course MSFT & ORCL are on, & that ORCL is presently addressing in the area of applications. They are cause for concern & debate.

But statements like "Don't think that Oracle has much of a chance against Microsoft" and "Oracle doesn't offer an integrated solution" beg to be challenged on their absurdity & lack of substance.
