Jerry, thank you for your observations and opinions. I sense they
come from lots of experience. You know what will happen if you're
right? You will become the next thread guru. <ggg> Along with
Big Bucks, of course.

Good luck.
Gottfried

ReAs for INTC, i feel there was a series of events that took place just in the last week, that alerted me to impending doom...

First was the resignation of Grove, but at the same time to soften the blow they announced simultaniously the purchase of 100 million share by back program...Think, what would have happened if they JUST announce Grove resigns, HUH???

OJ,

As for Grove's departure from INTC, that was announced eons ago and should not surprise anyone, esp. given the fact that he has been sick lately.

As for the share repurchase, can it not be that they are simply bullish on their future? I remember the same media hype when the 486 came out and INTC was supposed to lose it's dominance to AMD and the like. I'll believe it when I see it- no sooner. History has shown that you buy the AMAT's & INTC's in times of weakness and product transition. And that is what we are currently experiencing.

Re:I feel this sector will lead the market down, because they are the weak sisters of the stock market...What people are going to sell PFE??? AOL??? LU??? GE??? NAH!!!

If you see people running for the exits, stocks like AOL and LU are by no means immune, esp given the fact that they are both trading at stratospheric valuations. That same thing was said about AMAT last summer.

Regards,

Brian
