Dear Joe and other FTEL followers -

We have been evaluating the internet televideo industry for several months and see it as the next major growth area. FTEL is a local company here in our Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village area of California so we would like to see them get going. GTE also has a major office here and have installed a fiber optic system. Our guess is they are getting ready for internet telephony and video conferencing. By the end of 1998, the next generation of computers will allow near real time communications utilizing multiple processors. FTEL needs to produce a marketing plan and get a contract. A sell off to WorldCom would be a cop out. There is going to be plenty of room for success as Business Week suggests. Our evaluation is that if you are buying this stock to hold for at least 2 years, then it is at a good price. We do not, however have enough information to establish a short term risk factor but we are working on it.
