Do you know the distance between them, skelly? I guess some of the factors would be the cost of roadbuilding, the cost of hauling under northern conditions, and the possibility of concentrating the ore onsite with a fairly cheap setup (is that possible - you can concentrate copper and gold and nickel ore, but you probably can't concentrate diamond ore). Actual mining would be a ways down the road at this point, and if other pipes/dykes were found nearby this could improve the economics. It's still a new industry.

Just how do they crush the kimberlite without smashing the diamonds to bits?
It doesn't sound easy ... I did hear of a raspberry-picking machine once, though, and that sounds even harder. ...... cheers ........ macros
